Doesn't "piggie flu" sound so much better than the nasty swine flu or H1N1? No matter what you call it, Daddy's got it. Casey was diagnosed with the nasty swine flu virus late Thursday, although he prefers to call it the piggie flu.
The four of us were sick this week with colds and then a stomach virus - all within a 48-72 hour time span. Hailey is still battling her respiratory issues and is being monitored closely. She narrowly avoided being admitted to the hospital yesterday.
Daddy is really feeling poorly and the babies were prescribed Tamiflu, too. Neither of the babies were able to get their H1N1 vaccine b/c they have been battling colds and weren't well enough to receive the vaccine when they arrived. I got my vaccine at work. Daddy didn't receive a flu vaccine or H1N1 vaccine, even though he's a first responder...don't even get me started on that ! : )
We're slowly on the mend and hope to be over all of this by the time Santa heads to town. Needless to say, we haven't even started Christmas shopping. The tree is up but there are no gifts to go under it yet. We'll get there....somehow.

Here Comes Santa!
I know, I know....my last post was for Halloween. We've had so much going on and each day is jammed pack just from being in "survival mode".
The kids did really well with Santa. Neither one would smile, as they were very unsure of their surroundings and the small crowd. Each time they would both look at Santa, they would turn back around to see if they could still spot Mommy and Daddy. Yes...Mason is wearing one blue sock and one white sock and no...its not the latest Willis fashion. He outgrew all of his shoes and I didn't realize it until getting him dressed for Santa. We had planned to see Santa first in our day of errands, but Santa was at lunch. Who knew Santa had lunch breaks? We didn't want to hang out for 45 minutes so we headed to our next stop, Best Buy.
The whole time we were shopping I kept doing sock checks on Mason. He had both socks on the entire time. Before leaving the store I checked his socks again - both securely in place. When loading him into the Suburban I noticed his little piggie toes sticking out from his blanket. I searched the stroller and the parking lot - still can't explain how that blasted sock snuck away. After a couple more stops we finally made it back to Santa. Both Hailey and Mason were tired of shopping and tired of being in out and of their stroller and car seat. I ended up finding a single white sock in the Suburban and decided to go with it. I figured bare feet in a Santa picture would stick out more than mismatched socks. And no, it never occurred to us to go and buy him a pair of shoes, even though we were surrounded by stores. After having twins for the past 8 months, its not unusual for us to overlook things that are obvious to others.
More pics/postings to come soon. Lots of stuff to share, plus Thanksgiving pics, 7 month pics and just great Team Turner pics. We'll be 8 months old this week so look for at least one more posting before the week is over.

Our First Halloween
Hailey and Mason celebrated their first Halloween and had lots of fun! Grammie got them matching outfits that said "My First Halloween" rather than costumes and the babies loved their special Halloween clothes!
Here they are before we headed out trick or treating. They're both wearing the same size pants, but Mason's are much more snug...he could be the first baby to have a camel toe/moose knuckle while still in a diaper. Poor guy!
Hailey Ann is all smiles!
Mason's excited since he knows candy is involved!
This is probably one of the worst pictures...but since our super kind neighbors were nice enough to capture the babies' first trick or treating, I'm obligated to include it. That's Mr. Boze giving Daddy and Hailey and Mommy and Mason our treats.
Next we headed to the Journeys', our across the street neighbors. Stella had fun holding Mason, although Mason wasn't so sure about the festivities.

After a good haul (three houses), we headed home to scope out the loot. After waiting patiently, Mason was given the approval to see what was in his bag.
He was all smiles, so you know he got lots of his favorites. Hailey dug into her candy so fast, we didn't even get to get a picture.
Here she is on the changing table after spitting up (see chin and shirt). Evidently formula, nerds, gummy bears and lemon drops don't sit well on a 6 month old's stomach. Who knew?!?!

My Mammers' 81st Birthday
Saturday, October 17 was my Mammers' 81st birthday, so Hailey, Mason and I threw a little family party in her honor. Daddy had to work, so it was just the 3 of us with all of my aunts and uncles. We had a great time and enjoyed some good food and lots of laughs. It was great to everyone together for such a special occasion and of course Hailey and Mason got all of the kisses and hugs, since they were the only kids there.
Karen, Ronnie, Mammers and Uncle Bob. Side note about Uncle Bob - he just had his "Save Reunion" at Casey's fire station. He had a heart attack and coded - the guys on duty that day (not Casey's shift) were able to do CPR and get him back....pretty cool! Thank you, Station 31 B-Shift!

Hailey and Goer having too much fun....please ignore the white naked walls - no time to decorate yet.
More cuddles with her great grandpa!
Mason thinks Mammers has excellent "taste" in jewelry!
Happy Half-Year Birthday!
Six months old! Where does the time go? I know it sounds so cliche, but that really is a good chunk of time and it seems like Hailey and Mason just arrived. Then when I think back to how we were able to get sleep before the babies came, and six months seems like an eternity ago. While we're not sleeping through the night...please continue to pray for us! :) We are doing so much and changing everyday!
- We love babyfood! We're now at Stage 2 foods and we like all fruits and vegetables. We don't really care for Hawaiian Delight or bananas by themselves, but we will eat most anything else.
- We are taking 7 oz of Enfamil ProSobee with 10 tsp of cereal in each bottle.
- We eat babyfood 3 times a day after our "bot-bot" (bottle).
- We respond to Mommy and Daddy signing "milk" when hungry.
- We're working on learning sign language for Mommy, Daddy, change (as in diaper) and socks.
- Mason wears size 3 diapers, Tiny Hiney Hailey is still in size 2 diapers
- We are sitting with less and less support everyday
- We are teething like crazy...Teeth, please some soon!!!!
- We love to play in our bouncer and exersaucer
- We smile and laugh all the time
- Mason can roll all around and will roll to get to whatever he wants
- Hailey can roll from her belly to back - still working on back to belly - will be any day (if not this evening)
- Hailey love to stand - once she does roll over we think she'll be crawling before Mason
- We have our own separate cribs
- We love biter biscuits
- We will get our 6 month vaccines and flu shots at the beginning of November
- We love to look at each other and we make each other laugh and smile all the time
- We are fascinated by Piper and Tiggs (our cats)
- We LOVE bath time.
- We think our highchairs are super fun
- We are the most precious, most loved babies ever...just ask our proud parents!
Here are the pictures I took while trying to get them to both hold the number "6" and look at the camera.

We're Still Here!
Our lives have become so crazy. Semi-controlled chaos is our new normal. We closed on our house last week and survived the move. There were some questionable moments now that we have 2 teething five-month olds. Some times it can get pretty hairy!
I have so much to update with milestones and pictures but so far the time just hasn't come along. Casey and I are both crazy busy with work and when we get home our "real job" begins. It can be overwhelming when Casey is at the firestation and I have playtime, dinner, walk, bath and bedtime by myself. Of course now that we're in our routine, I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Hailey and Mason are the best babies ever! Everyday they are changing, learning and growing...as soon as I get a few minutes of free time I'll post pictures! Hugs to everyone!

A Year Ago Today...Hailey and Mason Were Made!
One year ago today (click here) we found out we had 11 successful fertilizations. If we'd only known how crazy our lives would be a year later!
We've made it to 4 months and since our last posting this is what we've been doing:
We've made it to 4 months and since our last posting this is what we've been doing:
- We have rolled from our bellies to our backs
- We REALLY want to roll from our backs to our bellies
- We love to smile
- We laugh and coo
- Mason did his first belly laugh when Hailey stuck her fingers between his toes
- We got our 2nd round of vaccines
- We started cereal in our bottles
- We are in escrow on a house and are trying to pack in our "free time" (seriously....who's idea was this?!?!)
- Hailey slept through the night 3 times
- We started Stage 1 foods with a spoon (this was today - GREAT pics!)
I have lots of pictures to post and just as soon as I find the time, I'll get them up. Casey and I both have crazy schedules and the poor kids never know who's coming and going. Everyday they're staying at home with either Mommy, Daddy, Grammie or Granny Goo. They definitely don't miss out on the hugs and kisses!

So Many Blessings
A year ago this past week I started Team Turner's page in cyberspace (click here for our first posting). Its crazy to think of all the exciting events Casey and I have had in such a short time. One year ago we were praying for just one baby...tonight Hailey and Mason are sound asleep in their crib, sleeping unswaddled for the first time.
So much has happened since my last post and I have so many photos to share. It seems as though the days get shorter and shorter as the babies get bigger and bigger! Today the babies turned 15 weeks old and only a year ago we were excited about just beginning the in vitro process.
The Lord has blessed us in so many ways. Although there are hard days (where I break down and cry...repeatedly from exhaustion) there are so many more happy days! I wouldn't change any of it, each day is an adventure and my little family is the greatest gift ever!
Happy 15 weeks, Hailey and Mason...and Happy 1st birthday, blog!

An Evening with Chance, Rachel, Tiger and the Queen?
Having babies changes everything...no doubt! Our social life has pretty much hit the skids for the last 4-5 months due to a bumpy pregnancy and the delivery of twins. Last weekend we had plans to go to a wedding and had Grammie and Gramps coming over to keep the babies. I had already showered and fixed my hair and make-up when our A/C decides to go out. LOVELY!!!
Casey had been under some extraordinary stress at work and was still processing and working through his emotions after dealing with one of the most violent wrecks he's ever seen. We were both looking forward to an evening of fun and relaxation last week until our A/C started blowing hot air. We cancelled our plans and got the babies packed up to go to Grammie and Gramps when the A/C decided to fix itself and began blowing cool air again.
By this time the house was cool, we were both over the wedding fiasco and decided we'd stay at home with the babies and try again later for our first night out. Last night Grammie and Gramps were nice enough to offer their babysitting services to us again along with their house for the night, too! We jumped at the offer - no night time feedings and some good solid rest...oh to experience such luxury! What would the 2 of us possibly do with our free time? Run errands!
We went to Target and stocked up on baby supplies - diapers, wipes, detergent and Mylicon. Then we hit Best Buy for a new printer/scanner/copier and Casey got to play Tiger Woods on the xbox demo. The highlight of our night on the town was a stop by the hospital to visit Chance and Rachel, the proud new parents of Emilee (click here to see this cutie!). We had a nice visit with the Montgomerys and then we headed to most happenin' place on any Saturday night...Luby's! At 8 pm this joint was jumpin...well maybe not but it was good food with no wait. After Luby's the real fun began...back to Grammie and Gramps. We had a house all to ourselves, no babies, no baby monitors, no phones ringing...just me and Casey! Whats a couple all alone for the first time without kids going to do....sleep!!!
I fell asleep on the couch within minutes of arriving. Evidently I had some pretty crazy dreams. Casey told me this morning I kept asking him about England and Queen Elizabeth - what?!?!? Either way I woke up rested and renewed and couldn't wait to get home to my babies! Casey, on the other hand, woke up rested and renewed and headed to work after a wild night of pillow talk with this little hottie......

3 Months!!!
Yesterday marked three months since Hailey and Mason joined Team Turner. Every day it seems like they do something new and are always amazing us. They're doing really well with head control, it seemed like it happened overnight. One day while Casey was feeding Hailey we both stopped and gasped when we realized she was looking around the room unsupported. Mason followed soon after Hailey. They both love to smile and we're waiting to see who will be the one to start laughing first. Right now they both do a big smile with a really loud coo.
Hailey is now wearing size 1 diapers, just like her Bubby. They are both on Zantac and Prevacid now - acid reflux is still under control. At our weight check visit at Dr. L's office this past week we learned that Mason now weights 12 lbs, 6 ozs and Hailey weighs 10 lobs, 3 ozs. Its hard to believe that Mason has already doubled his birth weight and Hailey is hot on his heels!

3 months old
Preparing to leave the hospital for our trip home.
Same clothes 3 months later.
Our little angels!
Sweet Pinky is starting to get fat cheeks
Our handsome boy with his wide eyes
I think these outfits are so cute and Casey thinks they're the worst. I decided I need to grab a picture before they no longer fit. Mason is really starting to swell up!
