Piggie Flu

Doesn't "piggie flu" sound so much better than the nasty swine flu or H1N1? No matter what you call it, Daddy's got it. Casey was diagnosed with the nasty swine flu virus late Thursday, although he prefers to call it the piggie flu.

The four of us were sick this week with colds and then a stomach virus - all within a 48-72 hour time span. Hailey is still battling her respiratory issues and is being monitored closely. She narrowly avoided being admitted to the hospital yesterday.

Daddy is really feeling poorly and the babies were prescribed Tamiflu, too. Neither of the babies were able to get their H1N1 vaccine b/c they have been battling colds and weren't well enough to receive the vaccine when they arrived. I got my vaccine at work. Daddy didn't receive a flu vaccine or H1N1 vaccine, even though he's a first responder...don't even get me started on that ! : )

We're slowly on the mend and hope to be over all of this by the time Santa heads to town. Needless to say, we haven't even started Christmas shopping. The tree is up but there are no gifts to go under it yet. We'll get there....somehow.

Here Comes Santa!

I know, I know....my last post was for Halloween. We've had so much going on and each day is jammed pack just from being in "survival mode".

The kids did really well with Santa. Neither one would smile, as they were very unsure of their surroundings and the small crowd. Each time they would both look at Santa, they would turn back around to see if they could still spot Mommy and Daddy. Yes...Mason is wearing one blue sock and one white sock and no...its not the latest Willis fashion. He outgrew all of his shoes and I didn't realize it until getting him dressed for Santa. We had planned to see Santa first in our day of errands, but Santa was at lunch. Who knew Santa had lunch breaks? We didn't want to hang out for 45 minutes so we headed to our next stop, Best Buy.
The whole time we were shopping I kept doing sock checks on Mason. He had both socks on the entire time. Before leaving the store I checked his socks again - both securely in place. When loading him into the Suburban I noticed his little piggie toes sticking out from his blanket. I searched the stroller and the parking lot - still can't explain how that blasted sock snuck away. After a couple more stops we finally made it back to Santa. Both Hailey and Mason were tired of shopping and tired of being in out and of their stroller and car seat. I ended up finding a single white sock in the Suburban and decided to go with it. I figured bare feet in a Santa picture would stick out more than mismatched socks. And no, it never occurred to us to go and buy him a pair of shoes, even though we were surrounded by stores. After having twins for the past 8 months, its not unusual for us to overlook things that are obvious to others.

More pics/postings to come soon. Lots of stuff to share, plus Thanksgiving pics, 7 month pics and just great Team Turner pics. We'll be 8 months old this week so look for at least one more posting before the week is over.
