Wrapping up 2010

Let's just say Team Turner was more than ready for the new year to begin after a not so fun December. Oh sure there were some good days in December...but then there were some dark days, especially towards the end.

Good day: December 14 - Cole was born and our family of 5 became complete!

Bad day: December 20 - Cole turned blue and began gasping for air - Daddy went into
fireman mode and cleared his airway while Mommy sobbed to the 911 operator.

Good day: December 21 - Cole was released from the hospital with heart/respiration monitor.

Good day: December 25 - Hailey and Mason were visited by "Clause Clause" and received more presents than any child deserves. Obviously the jolly old man had our twins confused with someone else's children - only the most well behaved kids could earn the loot these two con-artists hauled in.

Bad day: December 25: After making sure I saw the kids open their gifts and enjoyed Christmas morning I finally admitted to Casey and the rest of our family that something wasn't right with my stomach. I was in severe pain and overnight my stomach became extremely swollen and hot. I was unable to bend over due to the swelling resting all the way down to my thighs. I ended up being readmitted to the hospital for 4 days due to an infection from my C-section. Four days without Hailey and Mason after missing them while in the hospital for Cole's birth (and not to mention being without my newborn for 4 days, too). Daddy and the grandmothers (Kiki and Mammies) stepped in kept Team Turner functioning while Mommy was being pumped full of antibiotics.

Good day: December 29: Pediatrician determined Cole's blue spell was due to acid reflux. Evidently some mucus/reflux became trapped in his airway and caused one of the scariest moments of our lives. Cole is now fed sitting straight up and has to remain sitting up for 30 minutes after each feeding. This can be difficult with 2 am feedings when Mommy or Daddy's eyes can barely stay open, but is exactly what we had to do with the twins for their acid reflux.

Good day: December 31: All of 5 of the Turners were happy, healthy and tucked snuggly into bed when the new year began. 2010 was quiet a ride...can't wait to see what 2011 brings!

***New pics to be posted before Monday so check back in!***

OMG Erica!! How VERY scary!!! I am so glad Casey was there to go into fireman mode. I would have FREAKED!!! We had to have pediatric CPR class before Shelby was released from the NICU back in 2004, but I forgot it quickly there-after. Please post pics of Cole! I can't wait to see him!!! Happy New Year!!!!
