Table for Five!

We're pregnant...again! We were both shocked to realize we were able to get pregnant on our own and without fertility treatments. It was quite surprising and completely unplanned and unexpected. I'm only about 7 weeks along and the gravity of the situation is still setting in...like having 3 kids under the age of 2...WOW!!!
I've gone to my OB's office for blood work and will have my first ultrasound and drs appointment once I'm 8 weeks along. This is a new process for us, as last time I took my OB ultrasound pictures from Dr. Gill's office of the twins. We're excited to see who will be joining our family. It will be lots of work, but lots of fun. I know Hailey and Mason will love their new baby brother or sister.

Here we go....

Back in Chi-town

Exactly one month later, I'm back in the Chicago area for work again. I arrived on Sunday afternoon and will be here until Friday afternoon. Casey is the best daddy in the world. I miss everyone back at home so much, but I know Hailey and Mason are under their Daddy's care. The last time I was here we were told that we'd be back at least two more times. I'm hoping that this will be the last time and I won't need to return a third (or possibly fourth time)...so we'll see.

I still have so much to post about - just can't find the time. Hailey and Mason had their first birthday party. We decided to do a small event this year which was a good decision due to them being sick a few days before. They both had a virus and then Hailey ended up with thrush...good times! I have lots of pics, but didn't bring my camera or load the most recent pics on the laptop before leaving.

Mason is our traveling boy - he walks everywhere and gets into everything. Hailey will be joining him within the next few weeks. Hailey talks while Mason walks. Her first word was ball. As of me leaving, she could say ball, bear, dog, hi, hey and dadada (dada). Mason says ca-ca for kitty cat when he says Piper. If only she loved him as much as he loves her!

We're still not sleeping through the night, which is very difficult when you have two babies. I'm hoping that we will have that mastered within the next few weeks. I'll post more once I return home and life gets back to our normal chaos.

Hugs to everyone!

Missing My Family

I'm really missing my babies and my hubby. I left last Sunday and have been in the Chicago-area for work ever since. I'm very grateful for Skype and have been able to see and talk to the babies everyday that I've been gone.

I get to fly home today and can't wait to see my nuggets and my Casey - no fun traveling without my family.

Wal-Mart Baby Disclaimer

After reviewing my recent posts I realized that Mason and Hailey are seen in their diapers quite a bit. Please know that my children do not often run around in only their diapers, however the photos on the blog can be misleading.

You could easily see the recent posts and wonder are those the babies who are always screaming in Wal-Mart? My response would be "no...not yet". How can one tell? Notice the clean diapers, the clean noses, smiling faces and most importantly clean feet. Really how do infants get nasty "grocery store feet" when they can't even walk?!?!

The diaper photos were all captured during our scheduled time for them to be without clothes. Each evening in between dinner and bath time the children get to be "free willy" and don't have to wear any clothes. Team Turner to refers to this time of day as "naked play" or "pants off dance off".

As a side note, if our children don't start sleeping through the night, we could easily be the screaming, dirty, black-footed family in Wal-Mart very, very soon.

Ten Months Old

The kiddos weren't really into taking pictures when I got home this evening. I tried to get them to pose with their number 10 and they weren't really into it. See for yourself -

We're outta here, Mom! Catch us if you can...

Hailey and Mason wrestling in the playroom. This was from a couple weeks ago, but I liked Hailey's smile and how Mason's paci was upside down, so I thought I'd throw it in, too.

What are we doing at 10 months?
  • We are both crawling. Mason has been mobile for awhile, Hailey just really got the hang of it this week. Why would a girl rush to crawl when her Daddy will carry her anywhere and everywhere?
  • We are eating Stage 2 foods - not quite ready for Stage 3, they make us gag.
  • Mason is pulling up on everything and able to walk behind his push toys. He can occasionally stand for a few seconds on his own.
  • We love all foods and eat between 13-18 tubs of babyfood/yogurt/cereal/oatmeal each day.
  • Hailey is known as our "toof farmer" since she has grown 4 teeth. Mason's top teeth just broke through this week and his bottom 2 are already in place.
  • Mason sleeps in the nursery in his crib...finally out of our bed after the disruption of the move.
  • Hailey sleeps in the guest bedroom aka Hailey's room. She sleeps in my cherry sleigh daybed - quite fitting for a princess!
  • Mason spends his day chasing Piper and Tiggs, Hailey is more of an observer of the kitty hunts.
  • Mason loves to show his love to all those close to him. He will give you sugars on your shoes when you come home. He will often stop playing, crawl over to give Hailey a kiss and then go right back to what he was doing.
  • Hailey will occasionally give out a sugar, she mainly kisses her own reflection in her mirrored toys. This cracks us up!
  • We love biter biscuits while watching Jack's Big Music Show in our high chairs in the afternoon.
  • Walks and grocery shopping are the most fun.
  • We love flowers, the A/C thermostat, the attic door pull, a metal chain leftover from a light fixture, a plastic water bottle with dry pasta, shoes and baths!

I'm sure there is much more to post about for 10 months, but Mommy is tired and Daddy has already headed to bed. We have lots more blogging planned, so check back in soon!

Happy 10 Months, Hailey and Mason! We wouldn't trade the last 10 sleepless months for anything in the world! You'll never know how much Mommy and Daddy love you because everyday our love grows and grows...you are the best little miracles ever! Just in case you're wondering, we wouldn't be mad if you wanted to start sleeping through the night any time now.

Happy Valentines Day!

Are these not the cutest little cherubs you've ever seen?!?! You can't even imagine how much love they bring to our family!

Hailey hamming it up!
Our doodle-bug thinks everything is so funny. The more tired she is the harder she laughs, so precious.

And this little guy? He is definitely a mini-Casey. He's going to be heart breaker, no doubt.

A big slobbery smile for the camera. I'm surprised his teeth aren't visible here. He has several little, pearly-white chiclets.

Hailey doing a little swing time before her bath tonight. She's found a new love of the swing and has a great time swinging away.

Mason in his bouncy, getting too tired and letting us know his "toofers" were bothering him.

Poor guy - teething is for the birds!

*I have every intention of blogging more. Life just gets so busy and then we get so tired. We turn 10 months old this coming Tuesday, I'll use that post to catch everyone up on their monthly pics and milestones. One milestone you won't see posted is sleeping through the night...its still not happening. Maybe I should have started this paragraph with that little tidbit of information, then you'd better understand our extreme fatigue. Just try to imagine ten months....TEN MONTHS...of no sleep!!!

Piggie Flu

Doesn't "piggie flu" sound so much better than the nasty swine flu or H1N1? No matter what you call it, Daddy's got it. Casey was diagnosed with the nasty swine flu virus late Thursday, although he prefers to call it the piggie flu.

The four of us were sick this week with colds and then a stomach virus - all within a 48-72 hour time span. Hailey is still battling her respiratory issues and is being monitored closely. She narrowly avoided being admitted to the hospital yesterday.

Daddy is really feeling poorly and the babies were prescribed Tamiflu, too. Neither of the babies were able to get their H1N1 vaccine b/c they have been battling colds and weren't well enough to receive the vaccine when they arrived. I got my vaccine at work. Daddy didn't receive a flu vaccine or H1N1 vaccine, even though he's a first responder...don't even get me started on that ! : )

We're slowly on the mend and hope to be over all of this by the time Santa heads to town. Needless to say, we haven't even started Christmas shopping. The tree is up but there are no gifts to go under it yet. We'll get there....somehow.
