The retrieval went well today. We arrived at the hospital at 6 am and everything was underway by 7 am. We were excited to learn we had 15 follicles retrieved. All of the eggs should have been fertilized by now. Its pretty amazing to think that right now our future baby is waiting in a petri dish to be implanted in me next week. I was sore while in recovery but feel pretty good this evening - just tired from the anesthesia.
We should get a phone call tomorrow from the lab to tell us how many eggs were fertilized and if the transfer will take place on Monday or Wednesday. I'm not sure if we'll discuss how many eggs will actually be returned prior to the day of the procedure or not. That is the scary part for us right now.
C and I were discussing how many successful eggs we thought we'd end up with earlier today. My bet was 9, his bet was 4. So we're both anxious to learn more about how today's activities went. We have enjoyed not having to do any shots for the past 2 or 3 days, too. The short break has been nice. We have appreciated all the phone calls and text messages today, too. I'll update again tomorrow once we hear back from the lab....so excited!!!!

Good luck! Now you just have to go thru the nine months of pregnancy. It makes me tired, just thinking about it! Soon you will have your own little chunky baby thighs to chew on!
